Voghtland, H&R, KW, Stasis... there are quite a few out there. You can also go for some of the cheaper ones, but in our climate its wise to get the stainless steel bodies for corrosion.
I have the eibach coils which honestly ride like stock but are so much more balanced and tight.. its a great setup.. well really its eibach springs on KW shocks but they work great for me and daily driving
Pffft its a B5S4 you have the bumper off every other day plenty of time to look at them.

Actually now there seem to be a few options that are better than ER...all for around the same price. AMD, Apikol and Wagner RS4 are all in the same range.
JHM fmic flows better and cools better then the RS4's do.
Looks are subjective (I really like my front mount peaking out from the Reiger bumper).
ER, AMD seem to be the leaders (at least on the sheep forums, however I haven't seen them flowbenched for flow, not tested for true effeciency.
There is a poster on both 'sheep' forums that has paid himself to flow test the major SMIC's on the market.... Pretty much every SMIC out there that you can think of. While flow testing them is great, it doesnt cover the heat dissipation, which is equally as important. (For example, the ER IC's dont flow all that well, but logs have shown they keep the temp way lower then most others)
The major problem with the FMIC's is that they block the flow to the radiator causing some cars to overheat. (Depends on climate, usage etc) Unless they are mounted perfectly flat on the rad it allows for a pocket of dead air space which doesnt allow the appropriate flow to get through for anything else. Depending on your car/style, you also have to hack the stock bumper to get the FMIC to work.

Yes the effiency of the cooler is very important, (I haven't seen any real world testing of the ER or AMD coolers though). Everytime a discussion of which intercooler should people run comes up though much debate comes about as to which is the best. ER, AMD, AWE all have a great product and the stealth oem fitment is a definite bonus. As is not cutting up the rad support for a front mount. I really didn't care about the support (1 lbs weight savings!) and it fits my bumper nicely.
As with any forum people do like to fall into line, sheep if you will. So all to often people instantly call out fmic as being garbage, and smic as best (although the top sides are indeed more effiecent) the true reasoning or knowledge of what they are calling good or bad is often missing. I do not know the effiency of the ER, AWE or AMDs so I cannot and did not comment on them. I do however know that the RS4 borgs are less effiecent and more restrictive then the JHM fmic. Also some of those smic are huge money, which in the end may be better spent on other areas of the car. I for one would rather upgrade the engine mounts, intake system, clutch, turbos, shifter, differential upgrades or a slew of other options that will have a far greater affect given the desired goals. Those goals are of course those of the OP however not mine.
Ok long enough.... I'll stop, just hope the guy researches a bit more and find what will work best for his application.
Also the parts list is pretty sweet so far. Can't wait to see some progress made when stuff begins to arrive.
2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer SS. Daily. Far from stock.
2001.5 Audi S4. Billet rs6 and everything else. FOR SALE. $6500
Need this car sold.
Best mod for a B5 S4 would be the Molotov MOD, this is when you toss a lit Molotov Cocktail into the open window of your car and allow it to burn to the ground, thus killing it and limiting (not completely ending) it's ability to reach into your wallet and rob you blind at the most inconvenient of times.
PS, no my car is not currently broken, it requires a sturdier clutch, but it is not broken
I may appear to be nice, but don't be fooled, I probably don't like you
