Hey everyone, Im new to the site and was hoping I could get some information.

Just last month I blew my k03 turbos, I figure I might as well upgrade to stage 3.
What do you guys recommend for a turbo set up? Also What other parts should I buy to
    run the set up safe.

Do you know of any good shops that would install my turbo kit etc..?

    Thanks,

    Nick

    Re: 2001 Audi S4 b5

Currently I'm in a toss up. I've been looking at 2 ends of the spectrum. I've been looking at the new Frankenturbos and the JHM RS6-Rs. Both setups are nice, and pretty affordable, which is a definite plus. They both seem to have good success aswell. However, I am also really finding it hard to ignore the Tial 770s. They are proven, and can make huge power (something I am certainly looking for), but they also come with a huge cost in comparison to either the FT's or RS6-Rs.
As with anything, a clutch is a must to handle the power, I would recomend south bend. Downpipes and exhaust are another must while doing this. While the engine is out it really makes sense to replace the valve cover gaskets, do your timing belt and the rear main seal. Engine mounts are another thing that just makes sense, being that they have a tendancy to fail also.
After that then you can look into upgrading your intercoolers, adding fuel injectors with a tune and a new fuel pump to feed all of it. Past that the intake adds restriction and APR Bi-pipes are never a bad idea. Replacing your factory rubber couplers with silicone is another good idea and prevents headaches from boost leaks down the road.
But it really does depend on what YOUR goals for the car are. If you want a smooth reliable daily, crazy 1/4mile car, autocrosser with silly response or something in between is really going to affect your choices.

tial does make the 605's which aren't AS big as the 770;'s but put down more than enough power for most and will net you more than the RS6's and the FT's.

FT's for the warranty and amazing customer service. I have them on 2 of my cars, I wouldn't consider anything else

i'd probably go with frankenturbos and a custom jfonz tune.. that's what i'll do when i blow mine (probably in another 8 years lol)

                Re: 2001 Audi S4 b5

As everyone has mentioned.. there are a few options to choose from if you dont want to build your engine.

                1. Standard K04s. Seems almost outdated compared to the power and price of other options

                2. Tial 605's. Apparently just released a new updated version.. dont know much about them

                3. Frankenturbos.. new revision as well, seem to be the new popular thing. Lowest price point I believe.

                4. JHM RS6-Rs. New kid on the block.. good prices, and appear to straddle the line of needing rods (tuned down for stock block)

                5. 034 STK. (Single Turbo Kit!) This is also very new.. and I dont believe they have shipped any as of yet. I think its a cool idea, and if I had to do it all over again I would certainly look into it. Price seems to be a bit higher then most above, but gives lots of flexibility.. and it looks cool.

For all the above you would need a new clutch, exhaust, and fueling kit. It is highly advised to also do the major maintenance items.. since you already have the engine out.

                Good luck!

                  Re: 2001 Audi S4 b5

As others have mentioned there are tons of options for turbos, FT would be my suggestion.

What's your budget and goals (now and later) for the car?

You'd do well to deal with fueling and a custom tune, upgraded intercoolers and exhaust, diverter valves and if you can afford w/m injection, it's worth every penny. Of course now that you're hauling so much ass some good brakes, mounts and suspension are probably in order.

                  It's a slippery slope... haha

                    Re: 2001 Audi S4 b5

hey guys, sorry for taking so long to reply,
But im looking to make my car stage 3. I'm leaning towards the rs6r turbo set up,
My goal is to eventually fully build the car. 500-600+ whp.

As far as my next move goes, I would like to get the following done:
Stage 3 set up RS6R turbos
                    Stage 4 clutch
                    motor/trans mount
                    drive train stabilizer
                    full exhaust

I would definitely rather build the engine/beef up the suspension first... but I blew my k03's and would rather get the car running.

Hopefully I can get this done by spring next year. Just looking for some help on where to buy these parts/where to go to install them.

                      Turbos are from jhm.
034 is good for engine mounts and clutch.
                      Jhm has drivetrain stabilizer available.

I'm most likely going with jhm. But where would you recommend I take it to be installed.
                        I've been dealing with autoworks.

Save yourself the hassle and get everything from JHM... Hopefully they can cut you a deal with the quantity of parts you are buying. That way you also won't be stuck waiting on items from multiple vendors.
As for install Autoworks is fine, as is Tunedub.

Only thing I would change/skip is the front mount...
They look cool but don't work as well as the good side mounts that are in the market. And you have to hack your bumper.

Worth asking if they can cut you a deal with the amount Of stuff you are buying
