  • HP2 dust cover boots

I need this part... can't find it anywhere and the dealer doesn't sell it. I found a thread from 2008 on Audiworld and someone mentioned using some sort of bicycle shock parts, but there is no more information than that.

I am hoping that 4 yrs later someone on here has found a solution.

Here's a pic from a4mods.com where he gives a good DIY on rebuilding these calipers... may be able to find a kit with the part number from the box.

          Re: HP2 dust cover boots

I have completely rebuilt them, however that dust boot is not available from Audi or any of the regular vendors, even in the Bently manual it says if it is damaged you need to replace the entire caliper.

I know some of the guys on the B5S4 forums have come up with different ways to rig it up, but it will drive me nuts if it isn't done properly.

Side note: Noticed I'm missing the lines on both as well as the mounting brackets for them.

Should I just cut my losses with these calipers and look for another set?

how much? prly going to be cheaper then trying to buy all the required parts online or at Glenmore Audi. Should have gotten a set of B6S4 ones but already have new rotors, SS lines and pads for the HP2's, plus my car is out of commission now until I get this sorted.

                  Re: HP2 dust cover boots

^^ I have all the parts now except for the 2 dust boots and the lines. If I can find a used pair of HP2's somewhere I will just pull the lines, brackets and dust boots and put the rest in the blue bin. I didn't realise the ones I got didn't come with them, but now it's too late and my car is ripped apart.

Thanks Mantis, gonna try to track down the missing parts tomorrow morning for my calipers, but if not (or more than $150) I will throw these ones in my blue bin and come grab yours.

Well can't get proper dust boots. If yours aren't torn then I will buy your calipers.

Too bad I wasted so much time and money on these ones.
