PS i have a new pulley - i'm good there. I was an idiot and decided to throw the mechanical fan clutch out when i did my timing belt a few months ago. thought the electric fan would be enough - it's not :(Last edited by aliencurv; 05-14-2012, 09:20 AM.

Re: Any b5 owners have a spare mechanical clutch fan?
i just got the fan, no assembley.
DJ where are you finding its giving you temp issues?
i removed the fan blades to clearance the intercooler pipes. But mine's a US spec car so i think something was slightly different with the front end but im not sure.Team Highschool

Re: Any b5 owners have a spare mechanical clutch fan?
andrew your US car has 2 electrical fans
you have the one in the radiator support/clip then the one that attaches up front in front of the rad too
CDN s4 cars just have the electrical and mechanical fans in the front clip/rad support
a6's and AR's got the extra fan like yours (my AR does anyways)

Re: Any b5 owners have a spare mechanical clutch fan?
Thanks nathaniel! that works great.
andrew, i was experiencing heating issues in stop and go traffic over the past few days. i had removed the mechanical fan. and i noticed the temp getting above 90's and the electric fan kept kicking in. so the mechanical fan fixed that

Re: Any b5 owners have a spare mechanical clutch fan?
yea DJ my car does go slightly over 90 in +30 weather if i'm stuck in stop go on say deerfoot
i need to find time and just add an electrical fan kit in and put it on a switch somewhere mounted by the pedals or something
