    Re: RS4 pricing Question

I was in the same boat last summer, I had to decide between the Rs4 and the B8 S4.

For me it came down to the new tech in the B8, it was just so far ahead of the B7, I had a B7 S4 with all the bells and whistles, but the B8 just puts it to shame. The torque in the B8 is also insane, the way it puts down the power to the wheels is just so much fun!

I do miss the V8 rumble, but that will soon be fixed when I get my Milltek non-res exhaust put on!!

Oh yeah it's also awesome having 4 years of warranty, **** is expensive on these machines!

B8s are quick but i dont think they are actually faster than RS4s. Stock RS4s will put down 1/4 mile times in the high 12s.

        Re: RS4 pricing Question

If you're buying used then yeah, of course... expect higher maintenance costs. But so what? You're saving at least $10,000 to $20,000 on the initial up front cost. Put that money in a safe place and use it for Carbon Cleanings, Milltek Exhaust and some Ohlins Coilovers. Big deal.

As for the B7 RS4 vs B8 S4 debate. It's like the R32 vs GTi debate. Yes, they're somewhat similar... but then again... they're not. It's not that one is better than the other. It just depends who you are. One car will be better in some respects while the other will be better in others. At the end of the day, it's a personal decision. They're both great cars.

PS. This helped with my decision. Go Matt Farah!

          Re: RS4 pricing Question

I hate how some people base their car buying decision soley on how fast it is. Realistically, saying a B8 S4 is faster than an RS4 is really a non issue. Both cars are ridiculously fast and you really cannot use them to their limits. To me its not about all out speed. To me the RS4 is so much more special than the B8 S4. No disrespect as the S4 is an amazing car but visually and aurally, its not in the same league as the RS4. Everytime I see and hear an RS4, its something special however I see S4's everyday and although amazing cars don't do much for me! Yes its faster but is it nicer to drive? I don't think so!

            Re: RS4 pricing Question

^ Really good point! And I completely agree with the special factor of the Rs4.

I really wish that Audi had made the B8 S4 styling a little more aggressive like the B7 Rs4, it would be the best of both worlds, like I said the engine is a lot of fun, and the new tech is pretty amazing.

Oh yeah...It actually is pretty nice to drive also lol

                  Re: RS4 pricing Question

i agree derek.. i own what i think is a fast s4 yet i drive like a pussy most days.. you can't even get it past 4.5k without speeding harshly or causing an accident downtown :(

i'd just got with a new b8.5 s4 due to the new technology, body style, etc

then again i saw a black rs4 on steven ave tonight after work and i got a boner..

then again i only get boners really from sprint blue b8 s4s or imola yellow like in that video

                  great video too!
