My S4 randomly misfired at idle as well and colder usually meant more misfires.

Ryan! don't give up on the S4 It ruvs you so vewy vewy much grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr like a tiger.
I'm deleting my evap. I noticed something today. I was watching misfires. And everytime it misfired, the fuel adaption would increase. So i thought hmmmmmmmmmm! Evap? What the! So I disconnected the evap solenoid and watched again... No more misfires - and no more wonky fuel adaptions. I knew i didn't have a boost leak..... But i didn't realize the wonkiness of the evap.
So it's kind of silly when you think of it. Even with a tight fuel seal and all that jazz on the fuel tank, there is still a pump and a filter to let air get into the tank. And the evap sucks from the tank. So when the solenoid opens, you get a bit of unmeasured air. Now it's obviously not enough to trigger a code on a STOCK setup. But my car isn't stock because i have a fancy fuel pump without a properly sealing gasket, which means it leaks hahahahaha. so when the evap sucks, it gets a lot more unmeasured air than normal - resulting in higher fuel adaption and some tiny misfires.
I disconnected the evap and let the car idle for about 20 minutes while standing outside talking to my neighboor. You know, regular neighboor stuff like "no sir, i'm not a drug dealer. i just own a business and spend a lot of time at home during the day". Anyway, while talking for 20 minutes, there wasn't a single misfire.
There was an old lady though. She smiled and said hello. Oh there was also a lot of sunshine, so i put water in my pond. It's merman season boys.
opposite of clogged. it was sucking in too much unmetered air because the seal aroudn the pump is leaking - lots. the evap takes fumes from the gas tank.
