Thinking of getting rid of the Jetta TDI and possibly getting an Allroad. Can you guys tell me about the good, bad and the ugly about it? What should I be expecting? Just saw this yesterday: http://www.autotrader.ca/a/Audi/allr...0582216729706/. Anyone have any info on it?

Allroad will be a shock in terms of fuel consumption compared to the TDI! I do like them though.Stefan

Yes anything would suck compared to the TDI. But I want something slightly bigger and AWD. And just can't bring myself to buy anything asian or north american.2012 VW Jetta GLI

I may have a freshly built stage 3- with upgraded torque converter for sale. Let me know if you are interested, or at the very least, you are welcome to test drive it to see if an allroad is what you are looking forI may appear to be nice, but don't be fooled, I probably don't like youComment

Main problems IMO
- Hard to find one in good shape
- When you do they are overpriced
- Hard to find with many of the good options/packages
- Good engine was only in the US
- Maintenance-wise they are more work and money than average
- Looks worse than an AvantKR

AR is much better looking than the a6 avant.. that being said.. toss nicer wheels on a clean AR and they look awesome IMO
packages for them are pretty much always fully loaded
good engine ala 4.2 in the US.. you can buy them in canada too.. BTW 4.2 is showing its failing signs now too.. so all the 2.7t haters can suck it! ask meyers about the chains breaking and my buddy wiggy on his s4 b6 avant had to buy a NEW MOTOR!! when his chain broke!!
maintenance wise on mine! oil changes every 8k.. 1 timing belt kit.. car washes and gas.. thats it
cam in regards to cosmos i need to stop by and show it to loc so he can give me his thoughts.. the door rust is the biggest piss of ever of owning this car to me. and THEY ALL DO IT! so go up to one in a parking lot and take your finger on the front doors and run it along the bottom of door/top of blade and you'll see!! i do it to random ARs downtown and they all have small rust bubbles!Comment
