Yep it was out at Nakoda Lodge.

Man was that ever disappointing. I drove three hours through some crazy ass weather and brutal roads to watch the instructors burn a couple of laps out on the ice. I had my own S4 sideways a few times on the way down lol.

Here are a couple of pics I snapped on my way into the lodge this morning. It was pretty cool seeing 20 S4's sitting there waiting...

The instructor said the ice was 16" thick, but that there were thinner spots, he mentioned that he could see the ice ripple and move when he was out burning some laps earlier. It probably would have been safe but they weren't going to chance it :(

It was in K-country here, and out east they went to Esterel, QC (near Montreal).

Makes sense. But when did you do this? I just don't follow how you had to do it on the road, and he did it on the lake.

The problem was that overnight the snow added lots of weight on the already thin ice, if we hadn't got the snow it would have been alright.

For those of you that left.......... You missed out BIG TIME we took the back snow road behind spray lakes, 100km/h drifting through sweeping bends, it was a blast and lunch was amazing.

                  That sounds wicked!

Would be lots of fun to ride shot gun with a pro-driver at the helm.

if your car falls through does your insurance cover you?

You don't drive your car...you drive one of the 20 S4's supplied by Audi

I'm assuming it would be under their insurance.

That guy that drove the Bugatti into the lake was covered by his insurance.

I would double check first before going out on a lake with my car.

Just checked with my insurance agent (mom) and yes I would be covered under comprehensive if my car went through the ice.

I guess something similar happened a couple of weeks ago at an ice fishing event in Wisconsin where about 20 guys parked on the ice and all the cars went under.

From what I heard... he did it intentionally and a guy happened to catch it on film... so no payout.

                                Again... from what I heard.

As far as the lake is concerned, I could see some Shylock insurance co saying that if you're not on a public road you're hooped. Just like if you take your car to the track or a race course and smash the beejeezus out of it...
