Crysler Crossfire - Affordable, wifes parents have an srt6 crossfire. Kinda girly though...
Z3 - Total chick car in my opinion. I wonder if M Coupes are down in price yet?
Bishi - Would only be nice if it was a real import I think.

Keep em comin, I'm looking into the possibilities of all suggestions. Needs to be 15k or less, mods in or stock power.

I used to really want a TT for a daily as AWD and 225hp seemed pretty sweet. I have to say though (and I'll probably get flamed for this) but I bought a 1.8T car thinking they were great (partially due to the bias here) and I think it's a piece of crap, annoying (and constantly varying) power, everything you need to get at seems to be behind or under something (not sure how they accomplished that). I actually wish I would have got a VR6 if I was going to get a mk4.

If you're looking for a project I think there's some good suggestions here. E36 or E46 would be my choice depending on budget. Also, I've seen an E36 with a corvette LS swap and it was awesome! and I think could mostly be done with "Kits" to make it work apart from wiring.

Only thing I can really say from experience though is I had an expensive and powerful FWD car as my "Toy", NEVER again. If I ever get another project (unlikely) it will be RWD

Bought a 225 coupe for the wife to drive a few months back, she loves the thing but I too am on the dated looks wagon. With some work though they can look good and be as fast as you want, you just have to spend the bucks.

Miata, 240sx, rx7/fd. Yea not euro but all three are cheap sports cars with a huge aftermarket/following. Rx7 with lsx swap gets my vote.

An older Impreza 2.5RS coupe would be a sweet project car.

Or a Nissan of some kind with an SR20-DET so you could hunt Supras. A buddy of mine has a Pulsar GTI-R and it's pretty badass for a ricer/hot-hatch. 30/70-split full time AWD and a 2.3L four-banger with ITBs that cranks out 240hp stock. It's quick and holds the road.

As for German, I'd say an older BMW of a vintage you prefer (partial to E30 or E46 myself) or a small chassis Audi (partial to Coupe quattro, and B4-90) but the parts for those are getting to be NLA so therefore a PITA/skill to acquire. But... they're cool, look sharp and drive better.

For 15 grand that's what I can think of off the top of my head.

I would go for a early v6 Audi a4 awd then do a vr6 turbo swap , that is my next car but I am biased because I love the look of the B5 A4

Man I know there's a big thing against the fading up to date looks, but every time I look at one they still look good. I'd really like to be able to afford a newer one but that will never happen. I really wish the 3.2's came with a 6 speed instead of the DSG.

Soooo, after a lot of research on big turbo set ups for a TT; I'm now realizing that it would be borderline absurd to build one unless I could find one super cheap with a blown head or something. Average market price for mk1 TT's as of now are 10k, plus a cts big turbo set up and rods plus other supporting stuff I'd be another 7-8 maybe more in putting a total of 18,000 bucks!!!! Way too much, I could buy a pretty sweet car for that much, no? By the time I'm done even saving enough money, and spending that time I could probably buy a mk2 TT. e46 M3 region even..... hmmm....

If anyone stumbles across a 6 speed AWD 225 TT with a blown head or bent rod/s let me know please.
