  • mk1 tt, Yay or Nay?

So I've been thinking about a project lately, some of you may have seen my other post. I want a car that is not practical, and one that can be built. Keeping in mind I already have a 4 door vehicle, I've been leaning towards a 2 door. Mainly been looking at tt's. With rods, a Turbo, injectors, moar air, and a tune 350awhp is in reach pretty easily. Now my question is. Yay or Nay?

That monster tt was so nice, I went that year to check out the scene too. Who owns or owned that?

Chris from Das AutoHaus in reddeer owns (owned) the green one and I believe his dad owns the yellow one. He recently sold the green one to buy his Lotus. I wouldn't mind a TT one day but I am holding out for a TDI Toerag instead.

Re: mk1 tt, Yay or Nay?

One I'm going to say about the idea is that the car isn't built to be all that fast, and even if you put down 350whp with a big turbo, it won't be objectively that fast of a ride compared to investing the same amount of money into other cars.

Also think that if you want the car to look modern, the Mk1 TT is getting a bit dated and so you will need to spend a fair amount of money on the body. If you look at the Das Autohaus TT's they have had to do a lot of body work, body kits, custom paint, new head/tail lights, shaving, etc to make the cars look really good.

This would not be my vote for a practical build.

                      1- it has 4 doors
                      2- it weighs 4k lbs
3- 2.7t motor is pricey to build
4- standard stage 3 is getting boring
5- I have one, if I hadn't already started building it, I wouldn't be building it

Anything wrong with an motor swap build, something like an LS into a P-car 914
I may appear to be nice, but don't be fooled, I probably don't like you

I know, I just needed to point out that it could get expensive and impractical in a hurry........Ask me how I know, or ask GGG
