Engines good-not so good

Each person will have a different view,I was wondering what engines you think are better than others based on reliability, low maitance cost, and easier for a do it yourself repairs. I am looking for a newer car , a wagon so a Passsat or Audi. Engines would be 1.8t, 2.0t, 2.7t. 3.0, 3.2 4.2 3.6 ect

1.8t for cost and ease of maintenance

Look for a 2004-2006 Audi A4 Avant USP if you are super lucky
