- Ton of options or things we don't want, that "they put on *all* the cars", e.g. the Mudflaps I mentioned for $700, came to ~5K
- Bunch of misc dealership fees incl PDI but also shipping fees and other stuff, totaling almost 5k
- No room to move on price because the Avant is so rare; literally sales person said "we will round the $60 off for you"
- Taxes of course; was hoping to basically negotiate off the GST

Bottom line, just really disappointed my fiancee and I, we were already stretching the budget to get to 50K, we were shopping in the 40-45 range, so we couldn't add on even another couple grand at that point.

Going to keep my eyes open for a lightly used 2011/12 over the next year; if one comes up for sale anywhere with S-Line package, I will snap it up.

the flaps are on by default, but you can have those taken off, i did!

they wanted to put them on the ttrs, yaaaaaaaaaa right

Can't you do a factory order? Give them the spec sheet of what you priced out online and tell them that's the one you want and if they put stupid crap like mudflaps or advertising on the back tell them you won't take delivery.

The excuse is "Canadian dealerships have no allocation left" for factory orders.

What does that even mean?

If there has been too many factory orders in a given year they won't do any more?

each dealer gets x number of models to order based on past history normally, the more they sell, the more they can order next year, etc...

so it seems the limit of avants they were able to order for the year has been reached... however i think normally an allocation is assigned each month, but derek can probably explain better

Not sure if they will sell new to Canadians but a colleague of mine who is also a CA brought up a 2010 A4 for his wife that was used.

to buy a new audi from the usa you need to have a US driver's license...

So a U.S. home does not qualify? A Canadian cannot obtain a AZ driver's license without a US SIN number. Florida makes it easy to obtain a driver's license for snowbirds.
