B8 A4 Avant - Model Year Changes?

Hi,

Wondering if anyone can tell me the model-year changes and updates made to the B8 A4 Avant 2.0TFSi since 2008?

What features have arrived/disappeared over the last 4 years if any? Or problems they fixed? What's the best year?

B8 is 2009 and up 08 is a B7

There is a change in the DSG tranny somewhere in there where they switched to and 8 speed

in 2010 they updated the steering racks to eliminate some studder in low speed turns.

The new 2012's i think went full retard on options you have to get premium plus plus stage 9 or whatever they are calling the top of the line model this week just to get a 60/40 folding rear seat and trip computer etc (stuff that should be included no matter what).

Thanks for the good information!! You're right they went to a way better 8 speed auto in 2011. Seems like the biggest difference.

Neither S-tronic/DSG nor Manual is available on the A4 Avant in Canada or the US since the B8 came out AFAIK.

:(

IMO hard to find nice wheels for it as well, especially in a classic single piece design like a forged 5 spoke.

Neither S-tronic/DSG nor Manual is available on the A4 Avant in Canada or the US since the B8 came out AFAIK.

IMO hard to find nice wheels for it as well, especially in a classic single piece design like a forged 5 spoke.

There is a Beyonder (JDM GVS/SpoonEK9) that was running Techarts on his Avant. Looked prettty hawt IMO. Will find pics....

WikipediaStandard equipment on the B8 A4 includes:

-LED daytime running lights (on some models);
-MMI system (Multi Media Interface) (multi-mode interface of driver information and entertainment systems); (3rd generation MMI expected in vehicles produced from week 22 of 2009)
-Electronic hand brake
-Speed sensitive power steering ('servotronic' - on some models)

Options:

-Audi Lane Assist (lane departure warning system);
-Audi Side Assist (blind spot monitor);
-Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC);
-Advanced Key (keyless entry and start);
-Bang & Olufsen sound system (505W);
-Advanced parking system front and rear with reversing camera;
-Navigation system with full MMI with 7-inch (180 mm) screen;
-Adaptive headlights (with cornering technology);
-Audi Drive Select

Personally I like the B8 because you can still get a 6sp, for the finally reasonable rear leg room yet better weight distribution and 40:60 split quattro. And nav being in the perfect spot. All the rest of the options are icing.

Personally I like the B8 because you can still get a 6sp,

No MT available on the B8 Avant.
