B5 S4 recommendations for mechanical inspection

im lookin to get a 2001 B5 S4 inspected, the seller has no records for the car so i dont know anything about it.
any suggestions on a reliable place for inspection? i would go to tunedub but the booking is too far away.

Thanks fellas but I bailed on it. Read to many forums about up keep and maintenance and If I don't know the full history then I'm not getting a good deal in the log run

Indeed! Owning an 2.7tt is unreal because they're quick, comfy, stylish and the front seat has a great setting to arch the bottom and put the top back to do chicks in it. But maintenance is a total biznatch. The work isn't bad, it's sourcing parts and ordering parts and paying for parts and realizing you need more parts than what you ordered. One thing I've realized with the S4 is replace everything, don't ever assume it's one thing

You gotta be like Mantis and have a junk yard of S4's lying around so you can have one car that runs

Come now, I just have a couple of spare motors. The secret is never throw anything out when it comes to these cars, you will need it again to get yourself out of a pinch

Fix whatever needs fixing properly the first time, and you won't have much to complain about

Parts are easy to find for these cars if you talk to the right people...
