I'm planning on starting to match up the wiring diagrams between the b5 s4 and the 3.0 a4 since I plan on using the 3 liter heads and just the b5 block. Hopefully I'll have a schematic diagrams for it all soon
That will be quite a task, any reason you have decided to go with the 3.0L heads, are the cams more aggressive?..........
I know others considered going this route, but abandoned it once they determined what would be involved, however they were starting with a 2.7t wiring harness and ECU, not the other way around
I may appear to be nice, but don't be fooled, I probably don't like you

Well the heads I have from the 2.7 were damaged when the timing belt failed, and I've found the research that shows the heads between the 2.7L, 2.8L and 3.0 L are interchangeable. I'll probably go with rs4 cams later on anyways
Ever get a hold of Clint (Audi_A420T, I think) or Sandspeed on audizine to see what they did about the wiring harness issue? Or power steering hoses? There was another guy who got his shop (Rombosis) to do it for him too, but he should have good pointers.
I think ringlord on Motorgeek is the guy behind Rombosis... has a single turbo HTA3876'd 2.7t in a CQ. He might also be able to help you out.

Here's an update.
I pulled out the engine, got it on the engine stand removed the heads and dropped it off at fast engine to get cleaned and matched up. The timing issue I think I resolved. The 3L heads have two cam gears per head while the 2.7 L heads have one then a chain to turn the other cam. I'm going with the 3L ecu and wiring. http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...dupa-3-0-liter
Comparing the heads side to side shows how differnet they really are.
The B5 heads are on the left and B6 on the right. For starters the Cam position sensor are different and the B6 heads have two seperate sensors per head. Size wise they both fit, gaskets match up and everything.
The exhaust manifold is small and I'll have to go with bigger exhaust to help air flow.
This is the B5 exhaust with the B6 manifold gasket.
After dropping my engine off at no to Fast Engines in January and telling them I wasn`t in a rush, I finally got some progress out after threatening to take it somewhere else.
the 3.0 had 2 different size exhaust manifolds the early 02 models had the bigger manifold while the later ones got the smaller manifold.not sure why it was changed just thought i would put it out there if it helps at all.
