Despite having our first glimpse a few days ago, BMW pulled the covers off their M3 DTM race car today which is set to do battle with fellow German rivals Audi and Mercedes-Benz for the first time in 2012.
But that's not the only DTM news reported today. In an attempt to diffuse the PR push by BMW, Audi released just a few hours ago renderings of their all-new Audi A5 DTM contender. Already the rivaly is heating up.
During the reveal ceremony, BMW Motorsport drivers Andy Priaulx (GB) and Augusto Farfus (BR) were also introduced.
On display over the weekend at BMW Welt in Munich, the BMW M3 DTM Concept Car is powered by an air restricted V8 engine, according to the technical regulations, and generates approximately 480 PS (353 kW / 473 bhp). The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in about three seconds and has a top speed of approx. 300 km/h (186 mph).
