  • Allroad Questions

I have been looking for a something with some more room in the VAG family.

I looked at Touaregs, and although I really like them, it seems like they are just prone to too many problems.

I have also been looking at the Allroad.

Is there anything that I need to look into when considering a used Allroad, ie timing belt, turbos etc? Are there any areas or years that are problematic?

Maybe this should have been in the Bavaria forum?

Mods, could you move it please.

      Re: Allroad Questions

From what I have heard the air suspension on them makes them eat tires quickly and you have all the issues associated with the 2.7T powerplant. That being said, the people i know who have them, love them to death, but then again, all people I know with fast avants love them.

          search FFS lol

          k

          airbags can fail.

          aftermarket solutions
coilovers or keep the airbags with arnott suspensions.. (lifetime warranty!) tons of people use the arnott stuff and are super happy
04,05 allroads have a BEL 2.7t motor which has alot of different parts than the APB motors.. different ECU, turbos are different, lines, etc

          we love ours to death..

only issue if you checking them for sure

CHECK! both front doors right at the doorblades.. the ****** piece of shits hold water in and starts rusting! i've seen about 15 of them like that now :( including my own which makes me pissed

                    allroad costs X

plus Y for everything that will fail

Z is your financial tolerance for a vehicle to continue draining you of money

                    if X + Y > Z don't buy one.

otherwise they're a blast and one of the only cars I fit extremely well into.
