  • 2.7T Motor Questions

I am looking to replace my current vehicle with something a bit more modern. I want the 2.7T, 6MT and I would like an Avant. Which pretty much leaves me with the all-road. Which there are a few possible candidates. Found one with a 6MT, which is priced right.

I would like to dabble with a possible upgrade to the turbos, in the future, like late next year sort of future, so lots of time to read. I am fairly mechanically inclined, have a garage, have an engine hoist, air, and tools.

I have been looking around Audizine, and see some pretty impressive modding and custom tuning. Even some on this forum. Just not a lot of explanation.

Where are you guys finding all of this information. How are you selecting your turbos? How do you pick your tune? Picking your MAF/Injectors/DP/02's? At what point are you going from just the stock motor to doing rods and whatnot?

Any good threads for these questions?

Triple G, seems to have a pretty good handle, on things, and to be honest his hp numbers seem about where I would want to be.

Any sort of insight would be nice.

Unless you really want to tinker... do yourself a favor and buy a full kit with tuning from a major reseller... ie. Vast, EPL, AMD etc. They do everything for you and still give you the ability to log the car, send the logs to them and they will revise the software accordingly.

Have you gotten a ride in a K04 or RS6 or Tial car? Thats probably a good start...

Oh, and you can always import an S4 Avant from the US...

yea s4 avant would be nice

K04 cars today seem to be going away with better turbos coming out like the frankenturbos or tial kits

allroad has a TON more space than the s4 avant would but its almost a much bigger vehicle and you'd have to tear out the air suspension if you built it up as it would be nuts to drive that fast with that comfy air suspension ahah

Again? Is there another thread that I have missed? I am not saying I plan and buying a car tomorrow, then pulling the engine this weekend. Just something I would like more information on. You guys seem to have pretty large depth of knowledge, I just want a slice of it.

Ryan and R-Audi thanks for the guidance. Been look around the VAST APR Tial Sites. They seem like fairly complete kits.

I think I want the AR. I like the space it has. A friend parents had an A4 Avant, and it felt really small. I do a fair bit of skiing and whatnot so space would be nice.

Dont mind that cranky old bastard!

Depending on what car you are coming from, you would be thrilled with any of the upgraded turbos.

            K04-FrankenTurbos-RS6-Tial 605-Vast GT 600***Tial 770-Sky is your limit.

** Denotes engine build past this point, but 605's and any GT can get agressive enough to warrant this.

For me, I find the K04's more then enough to boot around town... FT's would be similar. RS6's and 605's would be a nice treat, I just dont think I would use them enough in daily driving.

Yeah, the stock will be a significant upgrade from my current automobile, just a beater. But kinda want to get into a car for a while, and build it to be mine.
