Audi has officially unveiled the Q3, ahead of its debut at the Shanghai Auto Show.
Featuring a "coupe-like" design, the crossover is unmistakably Audi as it boasts a single-frame grille, a sloping roofline and a wraparound tailgate that mimics the Q5 and Q7 . In terms of size, the Q3 measures 4.39 meters (14.4 ft) long, 1.83 meters (6.0 ft) wide, and 1.60 meters (5.25 ft) tall.
Inside, the A1 -inspired cabin is slightly bland but all the components seem to be constructed out of high quality materials. Furthermore, the boot is relatively spacious as it holds 460 to 1,365 liters (16.24 to 48.2 cu ft) of luggage.
On the options list, customers can order leather upholstery, heated seats, aluminum trim, and ambient lighting. Other goodies include a 14-speaker Bose audio system, a panoramic glass roof, and MMI navigation with a seven-inch display.
At launch, three different engines will be available. The 2.0-liter TSFI produces 168 hp (125 kW / 170 PS) and 208 hp (155 kW / 211 PS), while the 2.0-liter TDI develops 174 hp (130 kW / 177 PS).
Later on, an entry-level model will be introduced with front-wheel drive and a 2.0-liter TDI engine that churns out 138 hp (103 kW / 140 PS). While it won't be a performance champion, Audi says the crossover will have an average fuel consumption of less than 5.2 L/100km (45.2 mpg US / 54.3 mpg UK).
Set to go on sale in June, the Q3 will be priced from €29,900 in Germany.
