I asked they guys in the back and they kinda laughed as just about anything will trip the ABS and ESP lights. From ABS sensor , steering angle sensor to even the maf. VAG Com it or bring it to a shop who can scan it for you there should be a fault to point you directly at what the problem is. Could be something as simple as a plug got knocked off while putting in the lights.

Pull the code, but installing an HID kit should be the farthest thing from anything that will trip an ABS/ESP related code. Maybe you bumped an electrical connector or broke a wire near the ABS module while you were playing with the headlight wires...

i know the problem, the hids are so bright the car sensors are unable to see road conditions, for example if its too slippery or when it should engage traction control, so to be safe it just shuts all the systems off. basically with normal halogens the sensors were able to see ice on the road, but with your hids you would need to reconfigure them for all the extra light output you have now...

This is a common occurance on the B6 A4 with HID kits.

If you install the ballasts too close to the ABS module it will throw a fit. Move the ballasts and the problem should fix itself.
