  • A6 2.8 L timing belt....

I want to change the timing belt on my 1997 A6 2.8L, I have done a fair bit of reading and it seems everyone is concerned about using the cam lock and crank lock tools. I am wondering if these are real required to do the job or if
it can /has been done with out them.
    Thanks for reading

Can it be done without the cam lock bar? Yes. Would I want to? No.

The crank lock pin is no big deal...

Graeme and I couldn't even get the crank lock pin IN. The cam lock tool, however, important.
