car: '98 A6, 2.8l quattro
There was a bad oil leak on the car, found cracked oil pan, changed cracked oil pan, and thought the problem was fixed.
Oil light came back on, did lots of looking and finally found cracked valve cover also (driver's side). The lower 2 of 3 nuts on the cover were loose, and 1 was missing, the 2 nuts in center of cover were very tight, and the 3 on higher side of cover seemed ok for torque (not too loose or tight).
No idea how the cover cracked - well maybe uneven stress from loose and tight nuts, combined with big temperature swings.
need another cover, or this one welded up.
