      Re: boost gauges comparison

I have an APR one floating around my garage somewhere if you are interested... $40? Its the VDO gauge.

Id be interested in seeing the VAST one Jordan if you have any pictures, they really need to update their website as they have way more products then most people know about.

I have an older AWE, and to date havent seen anything that matches as well.

        Re: boost gauges comparison

VAST's website is under reconstruction currently, as is ours.

Here is a video of Mark Grimson's car with the VAST gauge installed. The video doesn't do the colouring justice, but the build quality and fit/finish is better on this gauge than any other I've seen. In reality the colours match OEM lighting almost perfectly. I had a few people act surprised when they saw the boost gauge and I told them that it wasn't OEM. If you are dead set on having red backlighting, the JHM gauge kit is also very high quality (red backlighting and red needle), I just prefer the lighting of the VAST gauge when you see them in-person.

Some of the gauges out there (like the APR ones I've worked with) don't have pressure compensation for our high altitude and lower air pressure, but the VAST and JHM units I've installed seem to do well at this. I've also noticed that most AWE gauges compensate for altitude, as well.

Gauge would look good on a B6, (THey are red on white arent they? or is that B7?) Unfortunately its the reverse of the B5 lighting...

I still stick with AWE matching the best.. white needle on red background.

            Re: boost gauges comparison

all other audis are white background red needles other than S models
and then oddly RS4s are white back/red needles

that one does look nice but i want the red back and white needle to match the OEM lighting scheme.. the awe/omori ones just do it great

The Podi gauges can be purchased with white needs and the backlighting can be switched.

On my gauges I have red needles but I can switch the background from white to red.

OK, so Jordan installed my new JHM gauge on the weekend... Here's a pic of how it looks. Red matched perfectly to the red lighting in the Audi.

Looks great, Rod! I'm glad you're enjoying it. Now as you watch the boost over the next year or two it will seem as though the boost is more and more insufficient, and then it'll be Stage 3 time! haha

I know! It's already helped out, cause now I know that it IS chipped. Boosting to about 16-17 psi.

And Jordan, yeah I know, I was already telling myself that if it wasn't chipped that I needed some more powa. Now that I know it's chipped, I have to see what I need to do to get it faster now!

                            Arghhh.

you must down downpipes now. nothing better than unburnt hydrocarbons in the morning

Full JAW 3" DP's into custom JAW aluminum exhaust, that is the way to more power. See Jordan for details
I may appear to be nice, but don't be fooled, I probably don't like you
