Re: New AWD Dyno in Town!!

My Brothers 260 was after mods though... exhaust, intake and software. 100% Stock was 200.

Im excited to see what a few tweaks can do in the spring... and see what else I can come up with

Re: New AWD Dyno in Town!!

Could one assume there will be dyno differences with different sets of tires?
What one's quest for eliminating the power train losses looks like?
Friction's comparison to engine mods efficiency?

Re: New AWD Dyno in Town!!

Im not sure how much difference one set of the same sized tires makes... if you were to go to smaller and lighter wheels you might be able to see a difference. The rotational mass can look very different. There are some dynos that you strap directly on the hubs of the car, and this would eliminate any wheel differential.

Not sure what you mean in regards to eliminating power train loss.. From what I understand it is what it is.. There arent many parts you can change in the drive train to make any difference. Im sure you could have some custom lighter parts made, but in the long run I dont think its worth it. (Unless you are in full competition mode where every ounce counts)

sunny made more than 260, with upped oct booster in my car, but detuned it to be safe with no oct booster.

Made it in to see Sunny and get some base line numbers today, great guy. Wheel spin problems at 3500 rpm so torque readings were down but 15 hp improvement with meth -vs- without... will post the graph when I get it.

I believe we saw one run of Graeme's at 362 corrected, 359 happened after too much timing was added

Re: New AWD Dyno in Town!!

Its interesting looking at the differences between my dyno and Graemes.. assumining mine is healthy (which its not looking at the graph) the addition of KO4/RS6 hybrids and Meth add about 30whp, but end up making less torque. Also that peak FtLb is about 350-400 rpm later.

What Psi do you spike/settle at?

Hey Graeme and Mantis? nice to meet you guys briefly the other day. Nice Allroad and the mk2 sounds sick. Funny we chatted for a few minutes and I didn't even introduce myself, Monty btw.

Thanks, I wasn't quite sure what to expect but I'm happy with the results considering what's been done...

Hmm, I think that's it... Vogtland coilovers too but other than that I've just been playing around with Unisettings and logging timing, lambda and boost. I'm sure someone who knows what they're doing could get more

I've got a couple little things planned for the spring ( air to water IC & 2nd meth nozzle ) so I'll test again then too. Oh ya, better upgrade the air filter. I wonder what torque would have been without wheel spin? 255 ish...

Impressive, esp on the stock turbo and your torque wasn't far off of Bart's tdi which is saying something.
