Sleeper S4 cult?
Went to go wash my dad's A4 at the Hughes off 97st/167ave (figured I'd wash/wax his ride since he lent it to me while my A4 was down with a pooched fuel pump) and saw a nice looking black B5S4 with aftermarket rims and an RS4-looking bumper (has carbon lltek lip).
Struck up a conversation with the guy, looks to be barely of legal drinking age, named Jamal, and found out he has a freshly-built (~1,600km) 2000 S4 including: VAST clutch, RS6 turbos. No w/m injection. Yet. AWE dual twin, DSMICs. N90-delete.
Turns out his tuner, some young prodigy named Mike who Jamal quoted saying he can swap turbos in 8hrs, also has a stage III car with meth and another buddy is right now building a GT28 B5S4.
Jamal said he intends to upgrade the transmission and go to a 3.0L stroker with GT28s, which I would assume he means full-frame 2871Rs since he said his goal is 1000hp.
Said he's not on the forums, but his mechanic (Mike) is active online. Also said that he was going to go with Jordan to build his car but opted instead for the local builder who also happens to be his buddy who's a neighbour kind of thing.
Interesting story, eh? Well he mentioned that there's a drive going on next Wednesday, so I'm thinking of trying to get them to meet at the Legislature grounds with the Eurodrivers crowd and go from there... Or maybe let a couple of the local ED guys tag along. Could be fun with some HD video cams.
