2007 A4 - Keeps saying it needs service

My buddy's 2007 A4 keeps saying it needs service - we changed it's oil when he got it in June, and then reset the indicator. It came back a week later saying "service due in 500km or 350 days". We changed the oil and filter again and then it did the same thing a week after, asking for an oil change in 500km or 350 days.

Any comments? Am I not resetting (manually, no VAGCOM) the service lamp?

umm the engine doesn't know if the oil/filter is changed hahahahah

check it with vagcom or unhook the battery even

if you reset it properly via the cluster/manual it shouldn't kick in for the next 8-15,16k or whatever
