  • BMW Dealer.. help

Hi, I own a 2006 325i, the car was purchased recently (2 months ago). Still a 4 year car but it is under warranty untill Sept, 2010.
Now here is my problem. The last oil change that was done on the car was in Jan of 2009. (32879km/s) Over 18 months ago. :yikes:
So I went to the dealer to ask for an oil change, they told me that since the instrument cluster says that the next oil change is schedualed for 01/2011 they can't do it. Unless I pay for it. ($200) The car has 52,000 kms now.
I need to know what warranty covers, as far as oil changes go. Is the dealership just being cheap??

The dealer only changes the oil when the car says, the Service I is free every 25K.
Take the car to Mr. Lube and have them change it for about $120. They get the oil filter from the local BMW dealer. I had to pay for two oil changes between each free one.

You asked this on E46Fanatics and same answer meng - You need to do it yourself between changes!

          It's roughly only 60-75 bucks.

Wait a minute....Its been over a year and over 30,000kms and they won't change it? Thats some BS. Even the best synthetic oil breaks down over a 1 yr. period, not to mention 30,00kms of extreme cold and extreme hot.

Call BMW of Canada and they will sort it out for you.

DIY for approx. half what Mr. Lube charges.

What's the number to bmw canada?? or a web site??

I will do the oil changes myself, but only once the warranty is done. I know it's easy to do; I do it all the time, but if warranty is supposed to cover this than why pay??
Fact is the car has not had an oil change from the dealership since Jan. 2009. So I don't see why they wouldn't change it.
I asked the dealer how much it would cost, they said around $180. I laughed in my head when I heared this.

                  Re: BMW Dealer.. help

BMW only changes your oil for free when your says service is due, so in your case 57879 kms.

Google BMW and you will find the website.
