I know this was not directed to anyone other then Erik, but I think I can give a reasonable answer as I have been in the dealership industry for over four years now and have come across this many a time.

Stasis has there own warrenty on there products and will look after any problems that may occur with any quality issue should they arise. If it is an install problem like ie fitment or quality, the shop that installed the part will be responsible for there quality of work. An exhaust, for example, will not void any Audi powertrain warrenty as it is basically a pipe that routes the exhaust out the back of the vehicle. If its a reflash of a Stasis program, done by a third party retailer, then Audi can and probably will void the powertrain warrenty if for example, a motor mount, transmission, driveshaft, rear diff or the engine suffer from a malfunction because of the increased power gains.

      Bolt on parts for the most part will be okay to do yourself and shouldn't void any warrenty, but when you get into ECU flashing other then the dealer performing the work, then it can become dicey. Its probably best that you consult the service department of your dealership first before guessing if the part being installed will void any sort of warrenties. That being said, if you were to decide to upgade your calipers, rotors and pads, and then for some reason the Master Cylinder fails in some way, the dealership could say;

"well, you have messed with the factory brakes on this car, and therefore warrenty will not cover the Master Cylinder part or labour to replace this".

If this were to happen, you could always ask them to prove that the upgraded calipers, rotors and pads were the sole reason for the M.C. to fail. This can never be proven of course and in the end, Audi would have to provide the warrenty they provided when you purchased the car. But is it worth the battle? Probably not!

Something similair happened like this at the VW dealership I was working at 3 years ago. Some dude installed a K&N drop in air filter into his air intake box and sometime later, his MAF failed and needed replacing. The tech that was performing the work had noticed this and raised a bit of a fuss because the air filter wasn't OEM and he thought that the oil in the air filter that K&N saturates it with was the direct cause of the MAF failing. Could he prove this? NO! Warrenty paid for the repair, and the customer was on his way. But the customer had to fight a little to get this work warrentied. So just becareful when dealing with any kind of aftermarket modifications in the future as you could have a big or small battle on your hands.

No. Stasis is way bigger then Riegel, I believe they are just a distributor.

If I run into the Manager anytime soon I will ask him, I went to high school with him.

I just dont see the feasability of a small Calgary Shop owning a larger automotive engineering/racing/retailer in the States. Maybe something with common owners, but who knows.

So here is the reply from my Stasis rep about the warranty on stasis products purchased and installed at the dealer versus an authorised stasis retail distibutor.

                  Hi Erik,

It is hot down here currently. Kind of sucks.

STaSIS Distributors only offer a standard parts & installation warranty. We do not allow them to have the same program as a dealership. They cannot back the warranty like you can for 4 years or 80k. Totally different program.
So they do offer a standard 1 year warranty just not the big one for you guys with cars still under Audi factory warranties. Hope that clears up any questions any of you hay have had.

Not really an Oops... It was pretty obvious the Stasis ECU upgrades were from APR when a few APR reps noted that they were the only ones who thus far have cracked the B8 ECU to allow for direct flashing. They let the cat out of the bag months ago. (But went silent when asked about Stasis... Im guessing something in the paperwork)

                            Re: royal oak + stasis

Hey sorry I didn't post earlier inventory week is murder.

APR has the program to hack into the Audi ECUs Stasis uses their own code and wizardry for the actual tune not APRs. Stasis has partnered with GIAC in the past, and develops all of their components through other companies like Ohlins for suspension Alcon for their brakes ect. I have gotten back ECUs for S4s with APR packaging but they all have the Stasis indetifiers on the work orders.

As for how fast they are, they are RS4 fast stock (13.4 @ race city) with the extra 75hp from the tune they are silly fast and lots of fun.

There are 10 S4's already done running around Calgary 3 are full package cars like the red one I brought to Euroquake 1 is totally debadged, the rest are all bone stock save for the tune.

For those interested the Stasis flash through me is $300 more than the APR tune, but you get to keep your warranty. If you have questions all my contact info is in my sig.

Sounds to me like Stasis farms out the ECU's to APR and throws their own codes on the work orders. Once you are into the ECU, there isnt much in the way of deviation in the programming....
