So i just got the following from the Seller in TO. i'm not buying that car, but i'm still needling the hell out of him.
Hi Andrew ,
I've paid the tax , duty , all the fee's , RIV is done as well , but i'm still driving the car with US plate because the insurance is still valid until december (+ other benefits ) . I have to get it certified and e-tested and it's can be plated in ontario . I'm not sure about the process in other provinces , but once it was plated in Ontario it shouldn't be hard .
I'll check on the receipts , cause I'm not sure . Some parts are visible such as the exhaust and the brakes the front bumper cover , headlights , secondary oilcooler , injectors , mass airflow sensor , etc... But unfortunately the turbos the intercoolers and the clutch is hard to see . You can feel them though ...
Please let me know if you are seriously interested , then we can go from there .
Thank You
Chris
How the hell do you pass all gov't inspections and still drive on a US reg'd and licensed car haha. Does he really think people dont realize this?

But you cant get registered without the inspections though can you? There is a two week grace period where he could have brought it up w/o registration.. but with a valid US plate he can obviously push that.
unless the guy lives in indiana, or has an IN drivers license, its not licensed or reg'd to him.
You can't register a car in another jurisdiction than you have your drivers license.
If he does in fact have title and reg in indiana, why would HE pay all the RIV stuff to bring it into canada when all he had to do was cross the border with it.
If i move to houston for work i can take my car down there, no inspections or anything, and just drive it around on my AB license.
The second i tried to import it to the USA though I would have to reg it in the USA. For that I would need a drivers license.
The guy is a curbster. He's waiting for the idiot to come along that doesn't do the due diligence on the car and buys it without looking into all the small issues

In the mean time, here are a few pictures from the previous owner. I'm paying a little too much, but avants command a premium. Whatever, I want it. lol.
