    Huston, we have 5 speed!

    So after about 6 days of blood, sweat and cursing, I present to you all, the new and improved Black betty...

    Here's some pics of the build

    And finally....


    Now I just need to get another 400 or so klicks for the clutch to be broken in and I can go full bore. I've done a few WOT pulls at 10 PSI and if they're any indication of what this thing will do, I think the all work I put into this will be worth it.

      Pretty much, it seems to pull a lot harder and the boost response seems more linear. What blows my mind though is how smooth the SPEC stage 3+ clutch is. I'm running an unsprung disk with a 9 lb flywheel. I expected it to be like a light switch during engagement. However it's really easy to modulate and engages really smoothly.

      Also, the clutch pedal pressure is really nice for a pressure plate that can hold 510 ft/lb. When I first bled the master cylinder and pressed the clutch in I thought that I still must have air in the lines because it required so little effort. All in all, I highly recommend this combo if anyone is thinking of upgrading their clutch setup for a BT or BAT.

              It's my folks garage out on the acreage, so I can't say it's mine. However, if I've got some spare time and you've got some projects that wouldn't involve your car being disassembled for days on end I'm pretty sure I can convince the old man to spare some garage space. Just drop me a PM and I'll see what I can do. I'm usually up for tweaking someone's ride.

                    No swap on the cluster and ECU. The AEB's can be reprogrammed via VAG-COM. I don't know what the story is on the later ECU's though.
