  • Boost gauge ?????

Yesterday I had the car out and was noticing that the boost was coming on qiuck when I was not on the throtle while letting the oil come to temp is this normal? Also what should my vacum be sitting at while cruising?

    Re: Boost gauge ?????

You mean under light throttle you were making more boost than normal?

Boost is a function of engine load, which is a function of throttle position, so the vacuum that you see while cruising will depend on how much throttle you're using. With no head-wind, on a flat road, you will probably see about ~16 Hg-in of vacuum on the highway.

That's a good idea. I would keep an eye on it. If it continues, or gets worse, you may have developed a leak in a WG line or a sticky actuator.

Does the car behave normally otherwise?

i would guess wastegate line as well. had that problem before but it ended up in over boosting to 23psi on a turbo meant for 16max. luckly it didn't blow.
