    Re: New to the forum

If your out at the meet I can tell you guys more about it, The training is done out in balzac at "Wet Creek Stables" the guy running it is Sean Hamill, he is also an olde bulldogge breeder (red branch bulldogge's) Summer training will start fairly soon, and all kinds of people bring out all kinds of dogs. He has spare pulling harnesses there for new people to use and try out their dogs. Its tough to say if a dog will pull, some people are sure their dogs will be great at it and when they get the dog out there it just freezes and doesn't move. I am adding a link to my youtube page where you can see video's of my dog pulling at the march 20th pull in balzac.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OXfhOByhzcQ

(king) my dog pulled 1280 for his last pull (on dirt) about 60% of what he pulls on the cart on concrete.

Not to call you out, but a pull like that on a LB4Lb basis (your dog being 38Lbs) you would have the world champion weight pull dog... with IWPA, UKC, And ADBA... If you still have that dog, I will give you 5000.00 dollars cash if you can come out and have that dog pull 1800 lbs on grass.. this i promise you!

Secondly there is NO WAY your male pulled that weight on grass.....I would bet my LIFE on it... I've seen slight exaggerations but that is just OUT TO LUNCH lol..

Cars may be some peoples specialty on this site, but dog pulling and the Pitbull breed is my backyard, and I know it inside and out.. There isn't one dog in north America at that weight pulling the weight you suggested on GRASS.... NO WAY.

SORRY I meant on concrete when she did this, the first time we pulled her was on grass and she did 1200 lbs same with the male...I don't have the dogs anymore since i moved... but yes she did pull that weight and so did my male.... there both ADBA registered and we did it in 04 in leduc for the ADBA show there... i was the vice president of the Alberta pitbull club at the time and we had another pitbull come up from the US to compete and he was around 87 LBS and he pulled close to 10000 LBS.. AND as for the pulling and pitbull breed being in your back yard buddy, same with me!!!.. I've owned purebred registered pitbull's since 03 so yes i do know what i'm talking about, i've done conformation shows with both and have done very well with them and i've even met a few of the old time dog fighters who started some of the famous bloodlines in the states at some of these shows, hence how i got my jeep and boudreax lines... SO yeah your not the only one who knows it inside and out!!!

                Re: New to the forum

IWPA RECORD FOR PULLING ON A NATURAL SURFACE aka (HARD PACKED DIRT) FOR NATIONAL CHAMPION WEIGHTS

                40LB DOG ---- MAX PULL 2100LBS

                35LB DOG ----- MAX PULL 2000LBS

DOGS OWNED BY PERSON NAMED DAMEN KEELS REGION 6 (INDIANA)
                DOG NAMED GRACIE, MICHIGAN CHAMPIONSHIP

Now the most important thing to consider is the facts about friction and inertia and how they relate to different surfaces, my dog pulls 2650Lbs on concrete with the cart, but can only pull 60% of that weight on hard packed UKC/IWPA natural surface conditions...grass!!! now thats a way different story, the amount of force to build enough enertia to move the cart not to mention the friction that comes with sinking in the grass and rolling over the blades of grass would be exponentially different....

If you do a search on IWPA champions along with UKC 40 Lbs champions even the dogs pulling on rails (the easiest pulls out there) are not doing much more than 2000Lbs... dogs my dogs size pull 7000Lbs plus on rails...

If your dog can do this I encourage you to bring him and her out as you will have the new WORLD CHAMPION DOGS IN THE PULLING WORLD!!!

                  Re: New to the forum

To ADD to your new post, there were no sanctioned events in Alberta at the time you claim to be pulling your dogs????? AT ALL????? You say you met and spoke to some of the old dog men...who did you meet and speak with and where did you meet them???

Do you have video of these pulls you make claim too???
what items of weight were used to incrementally add weight to the cart?
who what and why did someone decided to make the pull on grass?

Are you aware of the title holders and what they can pull?

Hostility??? To assume context, mood, connotation all from something as impersonal as a forum blurb is borderline retarded!!!

I actually find it quite humorous! God I love forums, where everyone is superman and has the most fantastical stories!

                          Re: New to the forum

When we pulled our dogs the surface was grass and the cart was on train tracks and the second time we pulled we did it on concrete and train tracks so yes a little easier to pull than just a cart on concrete or gravel.. I can assure you that there was AN ADBA sanction event in Alberta IF NOT 04 then 03 as we had Hank Greenwood who is the president of the ADBA judge our show.. As for adding weight to the carts we used 90LBS cinder blocks to make the weight up.. I met Terry Williams who started the AADR and Floyd Boudreaux. I met Terry when he came to judge the AADR conformation show here and i met Floyd Boudreaux with terry when a bunch of us flew down for his Bday in 04
