  • Manual boost controller

I put my boost gauge into my a6 the other night, install was cake. Gutted the vent closest to the drivers side, and installed gauge in there. Looks good, but not sure how to ''fill'' in the areas surrounding the gauge, so it kinda just sitting there lol. Now I can really see how bad my boost spikes, spiked at over 19 and held at 13-14 psi. I have read some threads on running a MBC to eliminate some of the spikes, as well as get a few more psi. My unitronic tune said it was for 16 psi and I would like to reach that. Any one got any experience running no n75 and only MBC? Or n75 with a MBC inline?

Yeah, you could run either MBC in standalone or in parallel with the N75, but you'll need to make sure your tune has the boost deviation fault coded out. If your tune is calling for 19psi spike and you set your MBC for 15-16psi, you'll go into limp mode if the ECU sees a deviation of over 3 psi between the requested boost and the actual boost.

What you should do is log your car with ECUx to see what the ECU is actually requesting for boost, and then go from there.

This ECUx, just another program i run through my laptop with vagcom cable? I will shoot unitronic an email maybe and ask them if the deviation is coded out. Or maybe chris from das auto would know, seemed to know a lot about the software.

Yup, you just run ECUx through a VAG cable on your laptop.
