  • Whining Turbo's

Well I think that we have run into a major problem with this Tial 605 car that my Brother and I built. Last night we went out for a quick rip and noticed the dreaded dentist drill sound!!! So my question is are the turbo's gone or is there another reason that we are hearing this sound? I have not noticed any white smoke or anything like that we are still getting full boost so I am a little stumped as of now..

I am going to try and call Tial today and see what they figure I hope they stand behind there product like they told me they do.Man does this ever piss me off after all this hard work that we have done to get this thing going so that my Brother can take it to B.C for the summer..

Nothing wrong with the 2.7T at all. The problem lies with Tial's products.

So the drill noise just started suddenly while you were out driving? Does the boost hold all the way to the end still? A loose connection could whistle pretty good under boost so make sure you pressure test it. Did you guys prime the turbos before initial start up? Best of luck, hope it's just a boost leak or something.

Well after reading your response I went and did another presure test and came across a small leak in one of the ic hoses after waiting another 4 days for a new hose in which Tial had no problem replacing, We are back in bussness car has no more dentist drill sounds.. Man am I glad!!!

The car seems to be running very strong now, even better then before.. I guess that is the joy of working on these cars whether it is a hobbie or you do it for a living you just stick to your guns and figure out what the problem is and carry on. I was almost ready to walk away from this one but I figured that I am not going to let this car get the best of me.. lol
