It's hard to say about this one. It all depends what is all done to the motor and what all there is for supporting mods. There could be 10 grand into the motor alone and then for the turbo kit and everything elese this person could have 30 grand into the car.
Plus it seem to have really low km. The amount of km on the car alone with out being a stage 3 is probely worth 20 grand and then with all the work done to it.. just my 2 cents
you normally don't get out of a car what u put into it... but realistically, if you were to build an all race motor, it'd cost more then that. and yah, we're talking 75k on the car alone, that's awesome! plus the motor was built and if it was done professionally like they said, then it was bored to fit the aftermarket pistons (not bored for displacement, but bored for piston expansion fitment).
it's far beyond a stage 3 car. i'd love to see it!
That price is a 'bit' ridiculous.. there have been GT 25/28 cars on AZ for low 20's...
at $39,500 he could almost be making money off the mods..
-S4 $18
-7k for built engine (CAW has a 3L, retail at 9) cheaper if you build your own
-Agtronic GT28 kit 8K
-Misc **** 5k?
Tough to say, it all depends on the other mods. However, if the thing is making 500-600 AWHP then it would be a hell of a sleeper. $40K to kick the s*it out of exotics is a pretty good deal if you ask me. Add to the fact that a) you'd be paying duty and import fees for an AZ one and b) there's next to no KM's on it and 40K$ isn't too bad. I'll bet that you could probably get him down to 35K$ if you haggled.

I'm pretty positive this is the guy I was talking to last fall. He was interested in my Corrado. Price seems pretty steep, but I do remember him telling me a little bit about it and it was insane.
i agree with you mark, being you are basically sitting in the same position right now. Tons of money into the car with 600whp ish. give or take a few hp. But i would have a hard time spending 40k on a 10 year old car even though it would spank anything on the road.
I wish he had pictures up.
as for the km a stocker with that low of km would probably fetch 17-18k max IMO.
lol i was asking 10k for mine with 130k and had lots of hit but no one ones a craptronic.
its payed for next year so ill keep it give it to the g.f and buy a 6spd next year!!
i still don't see the problem. if you bought a 20,000 s4, and wanted those things done to it... that's what you'd expect if you paid someone else to do it.
it would easily cost 20k to have a motor removed, bored, new forged internals, brand new turbos, headers, downpipes, exhaust, tuning (probably a standalone), clutch and flywheel, etc, etc, etc
plus it's only got 75,000 km! and the body is most likely amazing shape, better then any that we hvae floating around if it has only 75k on it. then i'm sure the brakes and wheels are good.
20k isn't hard to spend when modding a car. ask that guy on here with the tial turbos how much he has spent on the tial work alone
Its just obvious the seller is trying to get the majority if not all of his costs from the car when he is selling.. and we all know that doesnt happen. If it was high 20's to low 30's Im sure it would be more reasonable.
You can quite easily buy an S4.. and add those mods for around the same price.. or buy a similiar used one for way less. Like i mentioned, CAW has a BUILT 3.0L for sale for around 7k... plus Agtronics GT kit is 8k...
Lets say 20k in parts/labour.... it would be easy to find a decent condition S4 for less then 19,500... I know that for certain as its less then I paid for mine!

i know what you're saying... but if he had 20k+ on that engine, then i'd say he shoudl lower the price... but it's 3k (Break-in). so literally, if you were going to hire a garage to build you a race car... that's what you'd expect to pay. so with 3k on the engine, it's worth it.
10k? approaching no... 20k, def not.
but i honestly don't think it's unreasonable price if you were going to pay someone to do it anyway.
I guess if I was spending that kinda of cash, (basically brand new prices) I would rather do it from scratch, and know every piece of the car and how it was treated and built. For all we know it was pieced together in his back yard!
I've emailed the seller for additional information.... Not that I need to move onto a third silver S4...

It all depends on how the car was treated during those 75k km's. If the car was winter-driven every year, then I wouldn't expect the body to be anything spectacular...
