  • Comments on oil additives

I’m wondering if anybody has experienced the “magic” effects of any of the following oil additives:

    http://polytron.ca/product_engine_detail.html
Polytron claims “up to 99% wear reduction”.
Intense presence in Eastern Europe (some manufacturing there) – makes me suspicious.
    Looks like a pricey stuff…

If something seems too good to be true, it probably is.

Research I've done has led me to avoid additives in my fuel or oil, like octane booster or these kinds of anti-wear wunderstuff.

They were busted by 5th Gear in an engine dyno along with NOS and STP and the rest with a test on the results of running octane booster.

Net result in basically every case, loss of 2hp.

I wouldn't be running any oil additives when you're dealing with sensitive turbo oil seals...

Oil additives are a no no! Don't use any period. They are a waste of money and time, and when the ad says "it holds sludge harmlessly in suspension", you have to know thats a BS marketing line. Oil additives do nothing and can harm your engine in the long run.
