Another coolant temp sensor issue?

I am not driving my car much these days, but when out today in the -25 weather, my cabin never got warm.

Water temperature came up normally and sat perfectly at 90 all day. Oil temp also responded and was around 90 as well. However, my heater only blew cool air, even when set to high.

Ideas? Can it be a bad coolant temp sensor #5?

could be or your waterpump..

my heater even when its not at 90 will blow warm air..

Same problem with my Passat, dad took it in and got the full coolant service where they vacuum the system then suck fluid in, its been working good since?

There was just a whack of air in the system.

Perhaps an air bubble in the cooling system. I know with my BMW after I got it back from the bodyshop the cabin wouldn't get warm and realised that they didn't bleed the system properly, hence the air bubble.

It is a common problem with the Audi's and VW's. Very easy to fix though. The heater core has a blockage in it. Remove the two hoses from the firewall to the heater core and blast running water into it. The household hose always does the trick. But, its minus 30 outside and chances are, the tap is frozen. You will need to figure out a way to flush the heater core out somehow. When you do manage to free the blockage, fill the heater core with coolant using a funnel. You'll need a funnel with a flexible hose and a nice fit over the heater core spout. When the water is out of the core and the fluid coming out the other spout starts to look like the coolant you're putting in, its good. Cheers.....

Oh wait....1 more step. Bleed the air out of the coolant system. Now you're done. LOL

I've also heard of people CLRing their heater core? but im not so sure of the effect of CLR on the structure of the heatercore......

drove my car home friday with 0km on the guage from work didn't move it until this morning, started it, came outside 15 minutes later and it was dead! :( looks like ill be making a trip to the gas station, my car still gets up to 90 but it definetly takes alot longer.
