Re: Eurodyne to release tuning hardware for DBC!
You don't need me to log your car for you. I just need to flash the file to the ECU. You can log your own car if you've got ECUx or something similar. If you don't have a laptop with ECUx, then I offer the service of logging the car for you.
Paying me $20 to flash your ECU isn't the end of the world if you can afford to play with one of these cars. The stage 1 tune is $600, and if you pay me to flash even 5 revisions of the file onto the ECU, that's still only $700 by the time it's all said and done.
You certainly have more liberty to tweak and play with your own tune with this Eurodyne product- I'm not saying that it's not a great product, because it sounds like it is. I'm just saying that it's not for everybody, and you better have a darn good understanding of how the ECU maps work, how the sensors work together to send inputs to the ECU, how the ECU uses those inputs to generate outputs, etc, before I would feel safe putting a product like this into a person's hands and telling them to "go wild". There is a reason that tuners get paid to write files and sell them OTS. If you are one of the people who has a sound understanding, it is always fun to play with a semi-standalone setup.
