  • Eurodyne to release tuning hardware for DBC!

So, I just found out that Eurodyne is set to release a version of Maestro for the drive by cable cars! This means that for $900 you can get a base tune and the hardware/software to alter the ECU parameters. This combines all the benefits of standalone while maintaining the safety and comfort features of the stock ECU (i.e. knock control and air conditioning). I'm pretty stoked at the possibility of finally being able to make actual changes to the ECU programming.

While I agree, the same could be said about a lot of modifications to these cars.

True, but in order to do a lot of the risky mods, you need to have a fairly sound understanding of the car to begin with.

Much like Lemmi, this new product can be used by almost anybody, and is a VERY quick and easy road to engine destruction if used improperly.

True that, but like anything else, there's a learning curve. I'm sure that all of us who've done our own work and tuning have learned some hard lessons. Kinda like why I'm twirling my old K04-015 turbine on my desk right now. I learned that turbines don't work well then they toss a fin at 150,000 RPM. But learning my own lessons has taught me that much more. Which is really the reason why I do all this.

Yup, this product is definitely for people who want to learn, tweak, play and generally just spend money replacing all sorts of parts of their car

Re: Eurodyne to release tuning hardware for DBC!

I was at Calgary Autoworks talking to Lawrence about it and he figured that any changes that I would need to make would be pretty minimal. Chris Tapp's tunes are pretty close right out of the box so I think he could get it pretty close to my hybrid setup. However there will need to be a little fine tuning, which is why I like the idea of this setup. Otherwise I'm stuck having to constantly open the ECU to revise the file. If I really wanted to I think I could just data log and send the info to Chris to have him tweak it if any major revisions need to be made.

Yeah, I figure if I'm going to have to pay Upsolute another $200 just to get my fueling trimmed 10% I may as well put that towards something that will let me adjust it down the road if need be.

That's exactly how we do things. I just use a flash cable to update the file on the ECU...

Except you have your own cable and you are able to run your own logs with the eurodyne and Maestro 7 tuning suite. No need to arrange a time and spend money on getting a car logged.

after spending a thousand bucks on a leveler control unit, that sounds nice.
