  • Recommended mechanics

I'm posting this for a girl at work with an '05 A4. She's been having some issues and is looking for a good non-dealer mechanic. Being from a more VW background I have no idea.
    Anybody know of anyone?
    Thanks,

I agree, Tunedub has done great service work for me on both my Audis. Solid work and very honest shop.

I've got nothing but love for George. Didn't know he worked on Audi's too.
        Thanks

george has a TON of audi experience.. ask him how many of his customers have cars like S4s, allroads and a6s.. its amazing how many allroad owners who are non enthusiast take thier cars to him!!

Although George is good, I'm more partial to Calgary Autoworks myself. The owner Lawrence is a hell of a nice guy.

Lawrence at Calgary Autoworks definitely gets my vote; my cars won't go anywhere else now.

X2 for CAW. Lawerence came through when my IP died. They do Audis too.

                        Re: Recommended mechanics

What sold me on CAW is that they're a tuning shop with actual mechanics. Not to knock other tuning business in Calgary. However I've found that while a lot of tuning shops know their product, and how to install it .They don't know exactly how it works.

Without naming names, I had one shop tell me that you couldn't do a throttle body adaptation on a drive by cable 1.8T. I had two shops tell me that a manual boost controller was pretty much certain death on a 1.8T. One of the same guys also tried telling me that Mohawk 94 octane gas "wasn't real 94 octane". And that's just off the top of my head.

Anyway, like I said earlier. Tuning shops are OK if you take them at face value. Hell, I've still ordered stuff from both of those shops. However, when it comes to detailed mechanical advice. Lawrence and CAW are hands down the best I've come across. I should also mention that Sam at the front desk is always ready and willing to get you what you need as well. Props to you guys!

Another vote for Calgary Autoworks. As many others have said, Lawrence is awesome and everyone there goes above and beyond for their customers. There have been numerous times when Lawrence worked after hours or even offered to come in on the weekend to get my car running right and I can't think of any other place that would do that.

I would recommend George above all; but I would also ask him to look after my car personally as he has grown into a big shop now, and I trust him but I don't know the other guys there.

I have heard about Lawrence's shop and I'm sure its also awesome.

Lastly I would trust Das Auto Haus of course, I'd even drive up there depending on what needed to be done.
