  • 2.7t tie rod ends (outter)

    Hi guys,

It looks like my outter tie rod ends wore on my 01' s4. Concept 1 has the oem replacements for about $80. Anyone recommend concept 1 or should i look at the Heavy duty ones on ECStuning, or somewhere else in town?

anything to watch out for while changing them? anything else that might need to be replaced since they have gone and ill be changing those and rotors/pads at the same time?

    Thanks.

      Thanks,
Sorry if i sounded like i was complaining. I have never dealt with concept 1 at all and the first experience i had with them seemed nice. I am not complaining about concept 1 at all, and not about the price, its in the ballpark of what i've seen online. I was just wondering if the OEM are worth replacing with, or go with a heavy duty version instead?

shipping will hurt quite a bit from ecstuning just an FYI

Make sure to mark the bump stop adjustment as well as the length adjustment on the old ones before you remove them. Adjust the new ones the exact same. If you don't do this, you'll have to get the dealership to re-align your car, since they are the only shop that I know of that has an alignment machine capable of adjusting the bump stop on your car.

IME sometimes I can get such cheap prices from my US suppliers that even after you factor in shipping it's still cheaper than buying locally.

The aftermarket TRE's can be stiffer and longer lasting than OEM. I haven't noticed a huge difference between the two, though, so if the price on one is significantly better than the other, I would lean that direction.

Let me know if you'd like some pricing on OEM and/or aftermarket options for your TRE's and/or brake components.
