I'd like to see some apples to apples comparisons- like maybe the 335 vs. the B8 S4...

As much as I hate to say it Audi seems to have made some odd production choices the last couple of years. BMW seems to have retained a little better consistency. That being said, I have high hopes for the 4 cylinder, turbo charged S4 in 2014...sigh.

        4cyl turbo s4.. umm no

        apples to apples agree

i think audi wins not knocking the m3 or 335 as they are great cars but

i see on average 75+ 335 coupes/sedans DAILY downtown.. no lie
i'll see 5 or so new M3 coupes/sedans DAILY downtown..

        i'll see 1-3 S5s MONTHLY downtown
        and 1-3 A5s MONTHLY downtown

right there people are buying the car for a reason not because its the top 3 series on the market..

Take a peek at 0:29 to the 0:34 second mark of the second video and you have my vote for which ride is currently at the top of my Next 'whip list.

That will be wicked if Audi make a four cylinder S4. I hope they downsize the engines in their cars, with the engines mounted so far forward they need to make them lighter if they don't want appalling understeer like some of their previous cars.

Haha... looks like if anything, this thread is proving that there are Audi fans, there are BMW fans and yes, myself included, there are fans of both BMW and Audi. At the end of the day, the fact that we talk about Audi and BMW so interchangeably these days only means good things for all of us ahead as both companies will be trying that much harder to attract our purchase.

Now if BMW would just throw the Inline 6TT into the next X3. Sign me up for one of those as well.

Dear God. I need a bigger garage... and a couple more lines of credit!

Don't get me wrong I LOVE my B5 S4...you can't own one without loving it...even if it does sometimes make you want to cry. And I agree with you Ryan, BMW's seem to grow on trees these days.
Apparently the 2014 4 cylinder S4 will weigh in at around 3000 lbs. Less horsepower, less displacement, but with the significant weight change it should more than compensate...

                        Here's the article...
                        http://www.worldcarfans.com/10903131...ngines-in-2014
This article focusses primarily on the S5, but if you search around the net the cylinder and weight change is planned for both the S4 and S5. All that being said, 2014 is a looooong way away...and with the world coming to an end in 2012 it doesn't really matter anyway

You see more BMWs everyday because the majority of Audis are broken down. Hahaha kidding...or am I?

My neighbour just picked up an 09' S5 in Black, I have to admit...it's a much better looking car than 335i Coupe. But I think that BMW has had the performance potential edge over Audi since the B6 gen and will continue to for a while.
