Re: Comments Anyone?
And the Taurus is AWD?
Seems to launch faster than the Audi?

Re: Comments Anyone?
yea but the taurus is alot smaller than the a6 is it not??
the audi is alot heavier too i bet
the 4.2 350HP/325tq v8 fsi
vs
3.5 365hp/350tq twin turbo
cars are not even in the same league!! race a 5 series and its going to be the same result i bet

stems from the cosworths vs quatro's .. and that uk ford and audi have had a love affair with forced induction for evers.
everyone loves their uk's but no one here really looks past their brand... it's hard to recognize german built fords.. i have this discussion so often with my svtf (aka st170)

Re: Comments Anyone?
i was just over in europe, and there's tons of fords, and you'd have no idea they were a ford until you saw the decal.
still.. a6 is pretty heavy. that'd be like racing the sho versus my allroad.. no dice.Jess

Re: Comments Anyone?
I actually like it, the new ford interiors are getting really nice too.
Put that V6TT in the Ford Flex and you've got a winner!
I like Audi's but they seem to really be relying on their Brand recognition (which works for this forum haha).
I'm just biased 'cause I own a sweet Topaz.Jay

Re: Comments Anyone?
That is quite impressive, the A6 is around 4000lbs while the Taurus is supposedly close to 4400lbs. This just really shows the broad powerband on that Ecotech TT engine, torque peak is at 1500rpm while the 4.2 is ~3600rpm I believe. I'd like to see the comparison of some highway pulls between the two I bet it would be a lot closer or the A6 might even be able to pull ahead with it's slight power/weight advantage. Props to Ford for that TT6 for sure, now they just need to cram it into a lighter sports cars.2002 996TT

Re: Comments Anyone?
I've got to give Ford credit on this one. A 3.5L twin turbo has a lot of potential. I wonder what a reflash will do for it if it's putting out 365HP stock? I don't think that 400 HP 400+ ft/lb would be out of the question. Not bad for a family sedan. Now if they can just do something about the 4400 lb curb weight.Last edited by Mister T; 09-17-2009, 11:38 AM."Paranoia is just the eerie sensation of knowing you're right"
