what oil are you guys running in your cars?

Yesterday i did my first oil change since i lowered the car! what a PITA btw! couldn't even get a jack underneath it without driving up some wood planks. eitherway i dont enjoy doing them on my S lol, as for oil what are you guys running and how often do you change it?

Im using Mobile 1 0w-40 and usually ride on it for about 8000km

I use the same oil. i always ride it for no more then 5000Km

holy **** i guess i should start changing sooner, why do u change it so fast when its full syntec? alot of city driving or what?

lots of city driving, almost no highway
this all depends on the person and how they drive the car...some people drive more aggresive then others and prefer to have an oil change a little sooner then others will. I have heard of people even driving it for 10-16,000km before an oil change...I think that's a little harsh...but between 5-8000km IMO I think is fine.

i love the way mobile 1 0w-40 runs in my car, great for the winter because i dont have a block heater so i fires right up everytime!

i use the stock weight which is 5w40 and only castrol syntec comes in that. so i run that. as long as it's near the correct weight and synthetic ur good

i also stand by mobil1 because some of my blown motors have had almost no cylinder wall damage on mobil1.

Castrol Syntec 5w40 is what I always run in the 2.7T.

Mobil 1 is also awesome oil.

Depending on the setup and how the car is driven, I run it 8-11k km's. The factory service interval is 12k...

good, i was just making sure i wasn't out to lunch on my intervels, i know that they are beginning to use the the 0w-40 in the new audi's i went to an imperial oil lubertec seminar and audi had a display on talking about how great the mobil 1 0w-40 is. thats when i switched!

I'm running Penzoil Platinum 5w30, I read a list of BMW approved oils so i picked it up. I change it by the look of the oil and not a number though

I have spotted a ton of these threads popping up recently.

How can you tell the difference between a good oil and a bad one. Unless you take the motor apart?

I have asked this question before and never really got a satisfactory answer.

you can run your oil for "x" amount of km and then have it tested to see if its still good,
