    Re: Starter problem

quick update. I just got back from a place that rebuilds starters same place i went before and i guess the guy knows whats wrong with my starter. he said he can have it fixed by tmrw. I told him the problem and he said that the shaft is broken on the inside or something. i guess the solenoid is fine and the gear spins but it just spins freely i think it makes a noise like the shaft is rotating but the gear isn't actually spinning.
When i first took my starter in i had broken on of the bolts on it while i was taking it out so i think they just replaced that thinking it worked fine and didnt check the inside. when i went to pick it up though i specifically asked them if they did everything and he said "Yup".
We'll see what happens tmrw i guess.. thanks for the help guys.

I don't think I would trust a word they say after telling you (and charging you, I'm sure) that they rebuilt your starter but not really rebuilding it.

Ya.. ooh it gets better. when i went to get my starter the first time they screwed up and gave me the wrong one and i hadn't realized i wasn't paying attention and the mounting was all wrong.
well he said it will be ready tmrw so i will pick it up put it in really quick and see what happens. i don't really trust it either.
          thanks though.
