    Re: Allroad Accleration Issues

For the TB install make sure you have the cam lock bar for the 2.7T and follow the Bentley manual to the "T" if neither of you have done a TB on this motor before.
That part right? I made sure to get the cam locking bar for the 2.7T, and the coolant and stuff as well. I noticed my g12 coolant levels are actually over the "Max" arrow.

It shouldn't be too bad, between the manual and graeme's knowledge of vehicles and my supervision/be-in-the-wayness we should have it done in no time. Good thing I keep a steady supply of Rye on hand at all times. It's definitely over due though, unless it was done around 100 or 120km's, and just looks like the belt is not new. But better safe than sorry, in my opinion.

Thanks for all your tips/help Jordan. Definitely earned the right to sell me some VAST stuff, above and beyond.

And everyone else's thoughts as well. There were things I never would've thought of brought up in here.

Absolutely. You're smart to replace the belt whether it needs it or not, simply because you don't know if it needs it or not

      You're welcome.

          Re: Allroad Accleration Issues

Anyone have any ideas on what boost gauge I should get?

I like the prosports ones, they have nice colours and look like little gel displays.

I'm a visual artist, so.. that kind of stuff floats my boat.

I think the AWE one is the best on the market... not sure if they have AllRoad fitment though

              Re: Allroad Accleration Issues

buy the A4 AWE/omori gauge and you'll have to retrofit into a vent DIY style

nobody makes anything decent for the allroad which sucks ass!! i'm working on a way to fit a boost gauge into the ashtray and pop it open when i want to see the levels

                Re: Allroad Accleration Issues

To be honest, I'm really not a fan of the "in the vent" look. I'd much rather have a little display popped out of somewhere on top of the dash. Plus, throwing some nice glowy colours in there will make me REALLY cool. *rolls eyes*

but seriously, i want some colours to pop in the corner of my eye for visual effect.

The prosport gauge should work great for you (especially at sea level, or close to it).

I've seen the AWE gauges act a little wonky at times...

                    Re: Allroad Accleration Issues

The performance was a non-issue for me when I was first looking. Wasn't too serious about finding one until I decided that riding the boost is actually way more fun than not riding the boost.

i benefit from a gauge because it helps you control your mileage

the vent is OK.. you can get a center column pod for the AR but i hate how it blocks the cluster.

someone fiberglassed up a defroster vent pod that was OK but not in mass production or anything like that

AR has very limited aftermarket support which is stupid!!

i want an RS6 grill to match the lower vent mesh.. no dice unless i want to custom fab crap up.. sigh

                        Re: Allroad Accleration Issues

yeah I've seen the defrost mount ones. That, I think would be ideal. I'm reluctant to damage any of the vents, but pulling an entire vent unit is a different story.

                          Re: Allroad Accleration Issues

Vents are cheap to get after the fact....

AWE just came out with new gauges.. and they are all electrical. The first version had its problems, but the second and now the third are awesome.

They look the same as the ones we upgraded to...

                              http://www.awe-tuning.com/pages/shar...CenterGaugePod

Crappy part is you cant throw a new one in the old pod anymore.. and I left my 'new' gauge in my old car!
