FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO KNOW THE WHOLE STORY...
- I was driving back from a day trip to a friends cabin about 200km's away from the Calgary. I took a friend up with me and the ride up was completely fine smooth sailing. Halfway back on the return trip to Calgary me and friend noticed that my car was getting fairly rough and bouncy in the rear. Came back home and went over to another friends house after a cruise, as I drove up onto the driveway we all heard a loud "clank (metal against metal noise :thumbdown). My friend looks underneath as I back up and go up the driveway again and it looked like my mid section of exhaust was hitting the X-Brace underneath my car. So I went to my local BMW dealer and they lifted the car off and the ground and stiffened the exhaust somehow. When the car was on the ground again the noise was gone so of course I thought everything was okay again. So I went to track days and did some auto-crossing two times and everything was still okay with a few minor noises. Then 2 days ago I was driving home from a shop and hit a MASSIVE pot hole and suddenly the loud clank was back! :mad0260: SO I was like F*** my exhaust was messed, when I got home a looked under the car from the rear and the exhaust looked fine and it was stiff! So WTF... I looked around and then I noticed my driver rear shock was diagonal and the passenger side was straight up and down parallel to the spring. SOO then I looked underneath the driver rear strut and it was NOT EVEN in the mounting location anymore and was just resting on the lower control arm!
So as you probably assumed/guessed...I have been driving around for about 2 weeks when my rear shock not in place...:mad0259:
So presently I am running H&R Coilovers on all 4 corners...but my driver rear shock is OEM just so I can drive... so far it good and feels as if I have all for H&R shocks in but in time it will worn out.
At first I was looking at Koni Yellows just for the rear. But maybe these coilovers might work from Megan Racing!
If anyone knows anything about this Megan Racing Kit let me know!
