  • W/M help

So I just bought a used water meth kit from a guy from az as well as his chip. Can any one tell me how long it will take for me to install and how hard it is to install? Once I have everything installed is that when I put my chip in or shall I do this before? I a still fairly new to the s4 but have no problem wrenching any info would be great thanks

    Re: W/M help

Is the chip just a chip or an entire ECU?
(If its an entire ECU.. and you have the correct engine code, its a simple plug and play. Well take out four screws.. and plug it in)

Is the program set for Meth injection?

The meth injection itself isnt that bad... IMO the worst part is tapping the injector jets. I was pretty worried about wrecking my BiPipe. What brand M/I is it?

I don't know about an S4, however installing my W/M on my 1.8T was pretty easy. As for the programming, if you have a later ECU which allows you to alter the timing maps via the OBD2 port (the Passat guys use Lemmiwinks on the B5.5's) you can bump up the timing and log the timing correct via VAG-COM. Just keep adding timing until you start to see corrections under full load conditions (3rd gear pulls from 3000 to redline are a good indicator). Then back off a degree or two and you should be set.

If you have an E-PROM which needs to be physically removed then you should be able to ask your tuner of choice for a more aggressive timing map (like a 100 oct file). At least that's what I did.

You'd be amazed at how much timing you can run at altitude in conjunction with W/M. My K04-015 on a stock intercooler would hold 20deg advance at 19-17 PSI from 3000 clear to redline with virtually no timing correction.

Can you set your timing via your OBD2 port? Or do you have to re-flash the ECU

You can use lemmi to play with timing

It is real simple to put in the kit, just figure out where you want the pump. mount and wire it. Tap the injector nozzles into the bi-pipes about 3-4 inches before they make their turn into the throttle body. I would proably start with #4 injectors and see how they work out.

Personally I'd go with #3 nozzles if you're running K03 turbos. I'd also tap the bipipe at least 6 inches back from the TB if you're planning on sticking with 1 set of nozzles. Make sure you remove the bipipe before doing the drilling and tapping, though.

Also make sure you get the wiring correct. PM me if you need help with the wiring.
