The A4 is black go figure

Well since i don't have a car to play with i decided it was time to clean the old A4. Since i got the S4 the A4 has been the wifes car so it doesn't see much on the cleaning side.

Washed it while the wife went golfing and the car still looked horrible so i decide to bust out the wax. 2.5hrs of hand waxing later the car is actually black again. Still doesn't cure the 3million rock chips but the car actually looks decent in black rather than the dirt/grey that it has been for the last year or so.

Maybe tomorrow i will finish cleaning the wheels/interior but i can't feel my arm right now so i am going to take a break.

roger on the first pic do you have door rust going on?

i have a rock chip that hit that same area thats causing rust now.. had to clean it and lightly sand it and used some touch up paint to cover it..

Yes there is rust on that door and all over my trunk (accident that Glenmore failed to mention when i bought it) It needs to be totally repainted there is chips in all 4 doors trunk hood both bumpers and 2 quarter panels. So the roof is in good shape and that's about it.

Well we will probably get a wagon for the wife when a little one arrives and the A4 will become my winter car so its not worth painting.

i have a minor little bubble of rust starting to appear on the bottom of my drivers door, still can't see it but i noticed it waxing the car last year. as soon as it starts to come through i will be repainting the door, damn thing!

car cleaned up nicely.
