  • Boost Leak?

Does this sound like a boost leak to you guys?
Power will be better when the car is colder, when it's up to operating temp or been on the highway for any extended period of time power is non existent.

Here's a log of the Spec Boost vs. Actual boost after a few 3rd gear runs down the highway:

    Two reoccurring codes are:

    17964 - Charge Pressure Control: Negative Deviation - P1556 - 30-1 --- Intermittent

    17547 - Fuel Trim: Bank 2 (Add): System too Rich - P1139 - 30-00 - -

Attached are logs of Block 034, 035 and 112, also of Block 115.

Replaced TBB, old one had no tears.

    Known places to look first?

Car has Vast software and APR R1 diverter valves if that matters.

ahh i was gonna buy some from C1 instead of my hyperboosts but curtis wouldn't sell them to me because of that..

i'd try to get that pressure tester from roger or mark don't know who has it right now and give that a whirl.

Its actually Rogers... I borrowed it from him and didnt have the time to copy it and make one of my own. Jordan has one as well...

                Re: Boost Leak?

Car is requesting 2300mbars (light blue line) and the car is making 1350mbars (purple line) so there is something wrong.

Ill just make a pressure tester, found instructions on AWEs site, not to hard to make at all..

                  Re: Boost Leak?

first condition you described sounds like heat soak - works well in cold then ecu pulls back timing when it warms up then you feel like there is no power....
however the rich code and the difference between spec'd and actual make it seem like there is a boost leak.
Log N75 duty cycle...when it fails you only get 6 or 8psi whatever the wg spring is at...you should be getting 80-90...anything too far from that somethng is up...
                  good luck

When your DV honks do you lose boost completely and go into soft limp mode? At least until your car is shut off and turned back on again? I'm getting boost cut at 5K RPM and a loud honking, and at that point I go into limp mode and my car starts to moan/honk as soon as I start to build boost, or should be building boost.

If your DV honks and its not APR.. its broken. Get a new one. (or two)
